WELCOME TO THE GREAT LIFE!

Come discover the world of cooking and eating food in an entirely new way for entirely new reasons!

Many of us eat food not for the health of the body/mind but simply for the taste. We eat sugary foods to feel happy or loved, fatty creamy foods to feel safe, nourished and protected, etc. This may provide a temporary good feeling, but at what price to health, weight, energy and the immune system?

On this site you can read more about macrobiotics, learn about our excellent cooking classes, download recipes and more...

"Tell me, I'll forget.
Show me, I may remember.
But involve me and I'll understand."

GATHERING IN THE GREAT LIFE

A 1-day opportunity to come together in stillness, a great deal of silence and healing
featuring the deeply profound healing meditations from spirit repair

MAY 31ST at the Beacon Yoga Centre
9:30am-5pm

We so rarely take time for ourselves, to immerse ourselves in just being, to stop the outer chatter and business/busyness of life. On Saturday May 31st come and rest and just be as we Gather in the Great Life - gathering together to become a collective energy of group consciousness and to gather in the qi and let it accumulate in our physical and spiritual bodies - the qi/life force that is made available when intention is on rest, being and healing.

About 6 months ago, I was introduced to the work of a Master healer in the form of meditations called Spirit Repair. I listen up to 2 hours a day and have been so moved and feel transformation and shifts on all levels from physical to emotional to purifying location etc. My intention on this day is to create a space of stillness and introduce some of the meditations. We will move through physical healing, location purifying, psychological healing re: challenges in life, belief clearing, and more.

The day will conclude with an hour of chanting with the beautiful Asakti - to bathe in her voice and the energy that comes from kirtan is nothing short of sublime.

Venue: BEACON YOGA CENTRE, BEACONSFIELD, WEST AUSTRALIA
Dates: MAY 31st 9:30am-5pm
Cost: $120

WHAT IS MACROBIOTIC/WHOLE FOODS COOKING?

Come discover the world of cooking and eating food in an entirely new way for entirely new reasons. Many of us eat food not for the health of the body/mind but simply for the taste. We eat sugary foods to feel happy or loved, fatty creamy foods to feel safe, nourished and protected, etc. This may provide a temporary good feeling, but at what price to health, weight, energy and the immune system?

In the last 20 years, more scientific research and an ever increasing amount of anecdotal evidence has brought the benefits of a macrobiotic diet into the public attention. In fact, the macrobiotic way of eating is thought to protect one from many degenerative diseases.

A wide range of symptoms can be positively affected by applying these dietary principles, including:

  • allergies
  • candida yeast infections
  • diabetes.
  • digestive disorders
  • heart disease
  • premenstrual syndrome
  • hyperactivity in children
  • many types of cancer
  • immune disorders
  • menopausal difficulties
  • mood swings
  • hypoglycemia

The basic principles of macrobiotic cooking consist of a wholesome, natural diet emphasizing whole grains, fresh local produce including vegetables and fruits, beans, sea vegetables, soy products such as tofu and tempeh, smaller amounts (if desired) of animal proteins i.e. fish, and natural sweeteners. In addition, the balance of yin/yang in the qualities of food and in cooking styles is considered.

Learning how to cook and balance simple whole foods that are locally grown and in season is a pre-requisite for anyone wanting to make a change to a health supportive way of eating.

Also, learning how different foods affect different moods and can assist the return to a balanced emotional state through our lifestyle and dietary choices.

Macrobiotics is more than just another dietary regime as it is based on traditional principles of the Tao or the nature of life: the order of the universe. To have an interest and an understanding of harmony, balance and how all things change helps make for a smoother transition towards a macrobiotic way of diet and lifestyle. The by-product of such a transition can provide more vitality, more joy for life, and the energy available to achieve one's personal goals and dreams.
